There's one thing that Carmen Bowles wishes University of Kentucky fans knew more about her son, UK senior Ramon Harris. "He was a scorer in high school and averaged 27 points a game. That would be the biggest thing I would want them to know," said Bowles. "I often hear people say that he is a great defensive player and rebounder, but he has the ability to score. That is just me.

Northern Kentucky closes out its regular-season home basketball schedules this week, beginning with a Thursday night doubleheader against Southern Indiana. The women's game begins at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men at 7:45 p.m. The Southern Indiana men are unbeaten (23-0) and ranked No. 2 nationally in the NCAA Division II poll. The NKU men are 13-12 overall, 6-10 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference but have secured a berth in the conference Tournament that begins Feb. 27 at campus sites.

LEXINGTON, Ky. Former University of Kentucky point guard Michael Porter is writing a book about his time with the Wildcats. Porter skipped his senior year this season to take a job and support his wife and young daughter.
